Danaus chrysippus, known as the Plain Tiger or African Monarch, is a common butterfly which is widespread in Asia and Africa. It was believed the plain tiger was the first butterflies to be used in art…at least according to a Wiki article. Definitely looking artistic here in this image. It was a troublesome task to get this one to stand still for a photo, but after around 20 minutes of chasing it around…finally landed on a perfect isolated spot. Warm orange tones beautifully complimenting it’s wings. A nice snapshot indeed.
